About 50 people demonstrated in front of the headquarters of Disguise Inc. in Poway yesterday, protesting a costume some Asian-Americans have branded as racist.

Early this week, the company apologized and announced that it had stopped shipping the karate-theme costume, called Kung Fool. A spokesman said the company also would make refunds to retailers who send the offending costumes back.
